This is a four-phase project on Level 2 to renovate the pathology laboratory. The scope includes demolition of the existing area and reconfiguration of the drainage infrastructure below, within the Level 1 ceiling space serving the Emergency Department. The project also includes the installation of a new large-capacity air handling unit, air exhaust unit, and run-around loop on the Level 3 roof. In addition, two laboratory exhaust fans will be installed on the Level 5 roof and connected to a new laboratory exhaust stack.

Mechanical Systems

Kelson Mechanical’s scope of work includes the supply and installation of air handling units (AHUs) and exhaust air units (EAUs), complete with a run-around loop system. The project also incorporates lab exhaust fans with engineered laboratory exhaust stacks, 43 new air valves, reheat coils, and radiant panels. In addition, Kelson is responsible for plumbing fixtures, seismic requirements, and the implementation of a full building automation system to ensure efficient and integrated operation of all mechanical systems.
