Kelson served as the mechanical contractor for the renovation of Operating Room C at The Hospital for Sick Children. The scope included the installation of a new Air Handling Unit (AHU) in Mechanical Room 3668, complete with associated chilled water and glycol heating piping upgrades. The existing AHUs were removed and replaced with new high-efficiency units to meet current performance and air quality standards. Additional work included new ductwork distribution, medical gas systems, and heating piping and equipment serving the renovated operating room. Comprehensive air and water balancing, along with system commissioning, were completed to optimize performance of the new AHU and ensure proper environmental conditions. All work was executed within an occupied hospital environment under strict IPAC protocols.
