Kelson was the mechanical contractor for the new Durham College Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) Library designed to incorporate leading-edge technology and the comfort of a traditional library. This new building is a four storey building, with rotunda, which houses a periodicals collection, is the focal point of the library and includes a cozy fire-side reading area and a three-storey glass wall overlooking Polonsky Commons. UOIT’s preference was to adopt ‘green’ technologies within their new campus with reinforced concrete construction. The UOIT Campus sited around an open courtyard and are linked together by above and below ground walkways.Â
