Projects
Sunnybrook Hospital - High Voltage Emergency Power Project/HVAC Reno.
Completion: December 01, 2015
Location: Toronto
Sunnybrook Health Science Project is a two-phase project which encompasses a complete renewal to their high voltage emergency power system.
The project is divided into two phases. The first phase encompasses providing two (2), 2MW, 4160V diesel generators, one (1) 600V, 750 kW diesel generator , 4160 V switchgear, paralleling and synchronization controls, an automatic transfer system and a PLC based load management system. The second phase of the project involves providing two (2) additional 4160V generators (same size as Phase 1), 4160V switchgear, paralleling and synchronization controls, an automatic transfer system and additional load management system upgrades.
To accommodate the new 2MW diesel generators, the project will involve construction of an air intake plenum and exhaust plenum, which will require additions / modifications to the building’s systems, ventilation systems and the addition of a diesel emissions reduction system complete with onsite urea storage.
The revitalized emergency power distribution infrastructure will leave the hospital with a new system with greater capacity and flexibility, the ability to make closed-transition transfers with the utility and the ability to operate the generators sets for demand response.Â
