The TD Bank Data Centre was a $4.8 million upgrade and modernization project located at 21 College Street, Toronto. It included the installation of four new diesel generators, and three chillers within the 10-storey computer data facility, as well as other mechanical and electrical systems onto the roof area. The purpose of the project was for TD Bank to function independently from the base building and rely solely on its own mechanical and electrical back-up systems. In the event of a major power outage, TD would be able to continue operations without disruption. Excellent communication and detailed planning sessions with authorities at all levels resulted in a complex project that was on schedule and on budget without any disruption to the owners’ existing operations.
