Sunnybrook Hospital - Schulich Heart Centre Renovations

The renovation of the Sunnybrook Schulich Heart Centre consists of multiple upgrades of five active existing Patient Care Wings. 

Upgrades include a number of specialty items such as fit-out of a complex dialysis room, ICU floor with articulating units, Oncology floor including a lead room, cardiac floor, head walls with medical gases, patient lifts and an updated operating HVAC system. All floors received new millwork, electrical upgrades which include code blue and nurse call systems, paint and the latest plumbing upgrades to meet new code requirements. The work was tightly coordinated with surrounding operating areas as well as the latest requirements for infection control.
Mechanical Systems
• Provide AHU in sections and build units in existing rooms • Tie-in existing services with minimal disruption to existing services • Coordinate activities through 7 phases with minimal disruption to existing operations • Refurbish existing AHU’s in lieu of replacement Installation of heating, chilled, medical gas, steam, pneumatic, sprinkler systems
