Scarborough Health Network (SHN) - Pharmacy Clean Room Renovation

Kelson served as the mechanical contractor for the Scarborough Health Network (SHN) Pharmacy Clean Room Renovation project. The scope of work included the construction of two new non-hazardous clean rooms located at two separate SHN sites (Scarborough General Hospital and Birchmount Hospital). The project focused on the revitalization and modernization of existing laboratory office areas to support upgraded pharmacy operations.
Mechanical Systems
Kelson’s scope included the addition of two new dedicated AHUs designed to meet clean room airflow, filtration, pressurization, and temperature control requirements. The work also encompasses complete sheet metal ductwork systems, including supply, return, and exhaust air distribution with appropriate sealing, insulation, and high-performance filtration. Also, the upgrades for the Building Automation System (BAS), including new control devices, sensors, dampers, and actuators, with the clean room systems. Additional scope includes balancing and commissioning of the systems to ensure proper air changes, pressure differentials, and environmental performance.
