Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital – Field Hospital Fit Out

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Halton Healthcare approached the original construction team associated with the New Oakville Hospital project (completed in 2014) to do an emergency fit-out of future expansion shell space, in order to accommodate the anticipated strain on the healthcare system associated with COVID-19. The project had to be completed in 3 weeks, and aimed to accommodate 40 new beds, 5 washrooms and back-of-house support for nurses and doctors to deal with overflow patients as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kelson mechanical highlights:
Designed to maximize readily available materials and equipment, while respecting the code requirements associated with the construction of a healthcare facility
Aggressive purchasing and delivery schedule to bring equipment and material on site in much smaller timelines than would normally be accommodated
Provided provisions for future expansion into other areas of the hospital if more beds are required in the future
