Projects
The Hospital for Sick Children - Air Compressors Reno
Completion: March 18, 2025
Location: Toronto
Kelson was the prime contractor for The Hospital for Sick Children Air Compressors renovation project. This consists of removing and replacing 3 Air Compressors, updating the related piping, building a house keeping pad and renovation of controls.
Mechanical Systems
Kelson replaced the Air Compressors 1, 2 and 3 on 7th floor (PGCRL). We supplied new housekeeping pads and applied an epoxy coating to match the existing floor color. The demolition of the current air compressors will be done in phases. Weβll modify the existing compressed air piping and oil separator to accommodate the installation of the new compressors. The existing air intake piping for the compressors will be adjusted to fit the new installation. New domestic water piping, an RP backflow preventer, and pumped drainage piping will be provided to support the new compressors. Additionally, Kelson will install new air compressors, harmonic filters, and condensate pumps, as well as provide new electrical power for the condensate pumps. New CAT6A data drops will be set up for the new controls, and existing electrical feeds to the new compressors will be modified, along with reusing and relocating the existing transformer. Finally, we will install new controls to monitor the new air compressors. This is an occupied medical facility, with strict IPAC measures in place.
