The Toronto Dominion Bank SOC Data Centre underwent extensive upgrades to enhance its mission-critical infrastructure, with a focus on both cooling and power reliability. From a mechanical perspective, the project included a full chiller plant replacement, encompassing three new chillers, three cooling towers, associated pumps, heat exchangers, and automated control systems. In parallel, the diesel generator system was upgraded, featuring the installation of four new underground fuel storage tanks, diesel pumps, and a comprehensive fuel distribution piping system to ensure uninterrupted backup power.

Mechanical Systems

Kelson’s mechanical scope included the installation of a complete thermal storage tank system, providing secondary backup capacity to the chiller plant to support continuous operation under high-demand conditions. A fully integrated urea system was installed to control generator exhaust emissions, in compliance with environmental standards. Kelson also delivered a comprehensive Building Automation System (BAS) with a redundant secondary system for added reliability. The work was executed in a phased construction approach to maintain operational continuity, supporting the facility’s Tier III data centre classification.
