Kelson is the mechanical contractor for new construction of a 4 story, 256 bed, elderly care / assisted living facility in Peterborough Ontario. The new facility will replace the current one on Alexander Court near Peterborough Regional Health Centre under the branding of Extendicare. This new facility features 256 beds in a variety of configurations from privates, semi-privates and features services to the residents including dining halls, laundry services, recreation spaces, rehabilitation spaces, family lounges and relaxation areas all scheduled to be completed by November 2025.
Mechanical Systems
The mechanical system features nine Rooftop Air Handling Units combined with twelve Heat Recovery units, three hydronic boilers serving radiant ceiling panels, and nine air cooled condensing units providing heating & cooling to the residents. Over 550 plumbing fixtures in patient rooms, kitchens, services, rooms, and therapy/rehabilitation rooms throughout the building.
