The University of Toronto - Dentistry Vacuum Amalgam Separator projected involved the installation of 15 new Amalgam separators to filter amalgam from the 250 Dentistry chairs at the U of T dentistry school. This project also required the replacement of upstream equipment including vacuum pumps and moisture separator as well as all of the associated vacuum piping. Kelson was the prime contractor on this project. This was a very tight timeline schedule in an occupied building. The owner wanted the project completed within two months from receipt of purchase order to project completion which resulted in an intense schedule. The University of Toronto Dentistry had classes during the summer and the dentistry β€œchairs” were in use during the week. Therefore, installation and switchover had to be completed over one weekend, resulting in very tight timing and significant pre-planning and preparation. Kelson was successful in achieving deadline date and the project was a success.
