The project involves the construction of a 46,209 sq.ft., one story above grade municipal facility along with the site work for a municipal facility. The primary purpose of this facility is to manage snow and maintain district infrastructure for York Region. Kelson is the mechanical contractor for this project. The new facility is located at 10988 and 10990 Warden Avenue in Markham. Snow Management β the facility will house equipment, resources and personnel dedicated to snow removal and management during winter months. Infrastructure Maintenance β it will also support ongoing maintenance and repair work for district infrastructure, including roads, utilities and public spaces.
Mechanical Systems
Kelson will be installing new underground piping for sanitary, drainage, and water mains, and a 210,000 L underground water storage tanks to provide water for office and wash bay. Also, a 1,500-gallon oil & sediment interceptor tank, 3 ERVs to be installed for heat/cooling reclaim in office, garage/storage, and 4 exhaust fans for the garage/storage, wash bay, and brine mech/fire pump areas. There will be new fixtures installed throughout building AB, and 7 AC units to provide heating and cooling to office area and IT rooms with 2 new air compressors for fire suppression and process equipment. Installation of: 7 new water pumps (fire pumps, plumping, potable and non-potable water), new domestic hot water tanks for office area, 2 new sump pumps for sanitary, 6 unheated air curtains for garage doors, 6 new ceiling fans for garage and wash bay, 9 unit heaters (storage garage, wash bay, sprinkler room, mech room, and fire pump room), and new humidifier for humidity control in office area
