Kelson was the mechanical contractor for the new Springdale branch library and community park in the City of Brampton. The building provides 20,000 sq. ft. of library program space along multi-purpose community room. The neighborhood park includes areas for children’s play equipment, a splash pad, parking and a contemplative garden. Kelson supplied and install geothermal system. Geothermal system provided by our subtrade Clean Energy was installed under the library parking lot with deep boreholes using loopanol 2 chemical as a heat transfer fluid to a main supply and return header inside the building. Kelson connected our supply and return piping to feed various heat pumps in the building for the library HVAC system, along with a water to water heat pump serving a snowmelt system for the entrance sidewalks to the building. This was part of an energy strategy to help the building achieve a LEED Gold certification. Kelson installed: cooling and heating systems, plumbing system, cistern pumps for re-using storm water, BAS controls, heat recovery unit. Kelson provided a grey water connection from our grey water system to feed the irrigation system for the green roof and properties irrigation system.
