Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre - Dehumiidification Centre

Kelson was the prime contractor. This is a turnkey design build project providing an integrated dehumidification system, HVAC upgrades, and new DDC controls for the Yardmen Arena. New controls were added to the existing HVAC system as well as the new dehumidification unit. The existing infrastructure such as the Calmac Ice Storage system was utilized to precool the air to a temperature of 55 degrees and VFD’s were added to the existing air handlers above the rink to help acquire the Hydro incentive funding being coordinated under this contract. The design approach was to meet the requirements of a NHL space level.
