Description: Centennial Library is a Toronto Public Library (TPL) renovation project located in North York. The project involves the demolition and complete reconstruction of the current building. The new library will be double the size of the existing building, and be TPL’s first net zero branch.         Â
Mechanical Systems
The Centennial Library project will be net-zero, so mechanical systems and fixtures will need to be high efficiency. An interesting feature of the mechanical work is the in-floor duct system, which introduces installation complexity that will require careful planning and coordination with other contractors. Additionally, the geothermal heat pump system and dedicated outdoor air system are other distinctive features of the building.
