Elisabeth Bruyere Hospital-Fire Alarm&Sprinklers(Heritage)

This historic stone building was completed in 1845 and originally opened on Bruyère Street as the Ottawa General Hospital. Today Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital is a landmark in downtown Ottawa. With 36-beds, Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital is home to Canada’s largest academic palliative care unit and is Ottawa’s only palliative care hospital unit.

Kelson mechanical highlights:
This was a retrofit of an existing heritage building. The project was phased to renovate and perform asbestos abatement in an occupied hospital with complete infectious control measures in place. The work included a replacement and redesign of all washrooms and patient rooms as well as air distribution and heating. This included Plumbing, HVAC piping, sheetmetal work and thermal insulation.
