The project involved the installation of a new emergency generator at the Civic hospital complete with the associated fuel oil supply system. The installation included an extensive stainless steel chimney system designed with guy wires and structurally rated to seismic post disaster building standards. The system included fuel oil piping as well as glycol piping and associated HVAC systems.

Mechanical Systems

Kelson mechanical highlights: Due to the residential nature of the surrounding, sound constraints were of primary focus. To achieve this, the radiator was located remotely from the generator radiator and made use of elaborate silencers. Due to age of the campus and its existing main fuel oil storage and distribution system, substantial variances on the fuel oil system were applied for and granted by TSSA.
