This 46,000 square foot building expansion and total interior renovation project for the Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Arts is located in the heart of Toronto’s Queen’s Park. Construction included renovation to the existing structure and the creation of a third floor. The mechanical features of the project included: • The existing and new mechanical systems had to be • brought together to work efficiently and effectively. • • Coordinating all the mechanical components within • the ceiling to avoid interferences. • • Incorporating a diesel fuel system for emergency power. • Coordinating the delivery of the buildings 2 new Air • Handling Units during rush hour traffic. • Commissioning all equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Mechanical Systems
• Kelson acted as the General Mechanical Contractor. • Kelson participated with the owner in successfully completing their Quality Control and Validation Protocols allowing Gardiner Museum to operate within their standards.
